| Been a productive birthday. |
[13 May 2003|10:50pm] |
Hmm. Let me see...
THINGS THAT HAPPENED DURING MY BIRTHDAY (a span of two days, the philippines, and the usa)
1. We ate at Jack in the Box. 2. I brought Mikey, Pippo, and Dylan stuff that they'll hopefully like. 3. We ate at a Moroccan restaurant, and a belly dancer danced in front of me. Smooth curves, bebeh! 4. Found out that my grandfather, the one who wanted me to go to UST, is now the DEAN of UST LAW SCHOOL. Go lolo!!! 5. Made a business deal with my uncle. He sends me musical instruments from the states and i sell them in the philippines. We split the money earned 50-50. 6. Brought myself a metronome!!! Now, hopefully, i'll sound better. I also brought myself a new cd. 7. Nothing else happened... I DO wish Ramona will get better... I can't wait to get home and visit her.

| Duncan as the MVP? No freaking way. |
[06 May 2003|02:19pm] |
Arg. He may have posted career highs and he may have led his team to the best record in the nba (tied with dallas, i think), but he doesn't deserve to win the mvp twice! After all, he has a David Robinson, and a Tony Parker to back him up. His team is a solid one, and without him, the Spurs would have been in the playoffs anyway... Garnett should have won, in my opinion. He led the league in double-doubles, posted career highs, and without him, the T-wolves would be the Chicago Bulls.
Anyway. Got nice comic books: the whole Superman series (everything starting 1989) which includes his death, his return, and the evolution into the Teal Superman. Woohoo! And it all costs only 50 dollars. Yo Anthony, cheap, eh? Got it in mint condition at a book warehouse in New York.
Haven't seen X-2 yet. Here in the States, it premiered on May 2, a couple of days later than the Philippine premier. And the price of watching a movie here in the States is so high. About 10 to 15 dollars. Matrix 2 will be shown here on May 15.
Birthday ko sa May 13. Regalo ko ha! Hehehehe!

| Submarines, Spotted Eagle Rays, and 40 ft waves |
[02 May 2003|09:07am] |
Well, so far, that's what i've seen here in hawaii (aside from the hot babes).
I rode the Atlantis Submarine and saw plenty of marine life. I also saw two shipwrecks and part of a plane (the fuselage and forward room). That's also where the spotted eagle ray drove up to my window and looked straight into my camera.
We also went to a beach where the waves are 40 feet high! Ang galing ng surfers...
To One Day Old: I have a surprise for yah when i get back.

|
| luau!!! |
[30 Apr 2003|03:24pm] |
I finally got taste of a genuine Hawaiian luau! =)
Great thing to do... went canoeing, ate their version of roasted pig (wherein they cook the pig underground), and had a dose of sexy hawaiian chicks dancing in front of me.
Ang galing... add to that a spectacular view of the sunset... and then it's paradise.
See you in 2 weeks.

Finally, we're on the last leg of this 6 week vacation!
Arrived at 3 pm at Honolulu international Airport in Hawaii yesterday. We dropped off our bags at my aunt's place in Ouahu and then rushed to Kailua Beach to swim and hang around. After that, we ate dinner at a Thai restaurant, where a particular waitress looked like Miss Sim, and where a group of girls were eating and they were so damn hot!!!
Rundown of places i've been to:
1. Narita, Japan- stopover 2. Seattle, USA- stopover 3. Vancouver, Canada- 1 week 4. Minneapolis, USA- stopover 5. Newark, NJ, USA 6. Chestnut Ridge, NY, USA- 1 week 7. Manhattan, NYC, USA 8. Staten Island, NY, USA- 3 days 9. Washington DC, USA- 1 day 10.Atlantic City, NJ, USA- 1 day 11.New Jersey, USA- 2 days
total of three weeks now, and three weeks to go!!!
The Tool dvd got CRACKED. Grrr. Oh well, i got it at 5 dollars lang naman eh (got it at a bargain cv/dvd store). Also got a string quartet tribute to Tool.
Sigh. Three weeks to go, and I'll be back. I hope all of you are okay. Kamusta kayo? Balitaan niyo naman ako.
sorry nga pala kung hindi ako nakakacomment personally sa mga entries/comments ninyo. hindi kasi sa akin itong internet kaya medyo mahirap eh.

| New York |
[21 Apr 2003|09:59pm] |
Okay, after a long while, i've finally been able to get to a computer with internet access.
Ha! I now have a dvd of tool, of smashing pumpkins, of sepultura, and of incubus. i also have 3 new pairs of rubber shoes, and two new caps. i have two model airplanes (f-18E and f-15), and a model corvette. i also have new books, and new comic books. add to that a star trek phaser rifle. hehehe!
New York is a fun place. Woodberry is definitely one of the best places i've ever been to. Branded stuff for a low, low price.
Gotta go. Ingat kayo lahat.

| Canada Experience |
[11 Apr 2003|07:43pm] |
It is now 743 pm here in Canada, and THE SUN IS SHINING. Really. The sun'll set at about 8 or 9 pm, which is also why my sleeping habits are screwed right now. I keep thinking na 7 pm pa lang, when it's actually 11 already.
McDonalds everywhere. Yup, parang Pilipinas. Ang dami!!! Pocha. And ang liliit ng burgers nila. Pero, REFILLABLE DRINK.
Sa Philippines, every basetball court you see, may nagbabasketball. Dito sa Canada, every basketball you court you see, may naghohockey.
Hockey Craze!!! Stanley Cup playoffs na. I never realized how big hockey is in foreign countries. Hanep, 7 out of 8 home teams lost to visiting teams. Even my favorite team, the Vancouver Canucks, lost to erstwhile lowlives the St Louis Blues. Markus Naslund simply wasn't himself, as was Dan Cloutier. Paul Kariya of the Anaheim Might Ducks was his ordinary superb self, while Hedjuk of Colorado was no way in sight. Oh well. When i get back home, i'm going to miss the hockey games shown on TV.
Pippo, ano na nangyayari sa PBA? Balitaan mo ako- standings, etc!!!
The SkyTrain (similar to our LRT and MRT) is a fuckin easy way to access any point in Vancouver. The SeaBus is a unique way to travel, too. And it's amazing because here, you can buy a DAYPASS for $8 Canadian, and you can ride any bus, SkyTrain, or Seabus for an unlimited number of times, to ANYWHERE you want, provided it is on the route that the vehicle is on.
Commercials here (TV and Radio) are very entertaining.
There is a Smallville marathon on Good Friday which will be shown on the Space Channel.
The Space Channel features all Star Trek Series, from TOS, TNG, DS9, and VGR. All episodes, one after the other, all day, all night.
THERE IS A SEX CHANNEL AT NIGHT. 1130 pm to 3 am, SHET, puro BOMBA!!!
Walang Filipino Channel, pero si Sandy Daza (yung lalaking cook ng del monte) pinapalabas sa cooking channel.
There are more foreigners here than Canadians. Case in point: a daily SkyTrain or Translink bus ride ratio of foreigners (meaning Asians) to White People: 3 to 1.
Food here is amazing. all made out of fresh stuff! Pag-uwi ko, mataba na siguro ako. Anyway, personal shout-outs:
Tim- i'm not sure about those Tool DVDs... I don't think meron here in Vancouver. I'll probably look and get them in New jersey because mas mura doon: no tax.
Dylan- wasn't able to get the Sepultura here in Vancouver, since i plan on getting them in New Jersey.
Flakey- haven't seen nor gone to any music stores yet... (iba ang record bars sa music stores ha)
Pippo- tell me about the effects at once
Trish- Smashing Pumpkins in the bag. I've got no money left for the Cidade de Deus becasue you gave me money enough only for the Smashing. Apparently, the DVD is a big hit here in North America, and it's a little heavy on the pockets.
"Magikeros"- may Magic The Gathering Tournament pala dito. I don't know how to play the game, but as far as i can see, they play it in a manner different from you guys. And yes, it's a BIG BIG BIG hit here in Vancouver. Metropolis Mall in MetroTown housed a tourney whose entries amounted to 1000+ people.

Tangina, ang gaganda ng cds and dvds nila dito!!! Sepultura cds - kumpleto. Tool - kumpleto. Incubus - kumpleto. LAHAT!!! Naknampocha... Future shop's going to exhaust all my resources if there are branches in New York and New Jersey.
Anyway, I got the Smashing Pumpkins DVD for Trish, and the Kevin Garnett jersey for Joel. *they payed for it. hehehe. mga pasalubong ninyo will be much cheaper.

Galing ni Pao... He's only 18 years old, studying at the UST Conservatory of Music. And he plays like a 30 year old. He taught me lots of stuff and techniques. And we jammed together! Me providing the normal rhythm, and him providing the ornaments.
Shit... kick-ass tandem kami kanina, sayang walang pangrecord!!!
Then we took turns. Siya naman yung rhythm, ako yung pampaarte... ANG GALING NAMIN!!! PUCHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And he offered to give me his old Pearl Power Pro pedals (Not that i need it anyway. hehehe)... Tangina ina ka pao, ang galing mo!!!

Thanks Migo. Thanks to the parents. Thanks to the owner (whom i thought was gonna keep us there for the NPAs to take hostage). Thanks to O.
Hehe. I "marked" the basketball court with my blood. God, my nose just wouldn't stop bleeding when the ball hit it. It was the first time it bled like that. My hands were all red from my blood and my body (i was shirtless at that time) had streaks of blood already.
And then the lights went off. It was fun and a little bit scary. We thought that we were gonna be mass murdered already. Hehe.
It turns out the owner really was generous. Hehe.
And i have a cold now. Wahaha
